How It All Started
From Paper Logs to Powerful Tools — The Birth of Fitmy
Fitmy started with a simple workout and a big realization.
In 2024, our founder Buma Hermann, passionate about fitness and tech, was training at a local gym in Bambili, Cameroon. During his regular sessions, he noticed something that sparked an idea: the entire gym operation was still paper-based — from recording member info to tracking subscriptions.
This manual system wasn't just outdated; it was overwhelming for the gym staff, who worked hard to keep everything in check. With his background in tech, Hermann saw an opportunity to make gym management smarter and simpler. He reached out to Timo, a talented software engineer, and together they set out to build a platform that could transform not just one gym, but fitness centers everywhere. That's when Fitmy was born.
